Interview with Di, event organiser for the Leasehold Roadshow.

Sarah:
The next roadshow is taking place later in the month in Essex. I have read some interesting comments from people that have attended them.  If I register, what can I expect to get from the day?

Di:
The roadshows are a really fantastic way to meet experts in leasehold matters and meet other leaseholders who are also experiencing a range of issues – we often find that attendees have more in common than they first think.

Sarah:
Who are the experts?

Di:
Louie Burns, MD of Leasehold Solutions Group of Companies, educates leaseholders about the history of leasehold and their rights. Louie is the foremost expert on all things Leasehold and is often in Parliament as an advisor. He’s a trustee of the number one charity that helps leaseholders, the Leasehold Knowledge Partnership. He has just written the best book on the leasehold journey called ‘The simple guide to Leasehold’, which is available on Amazon.

Experts from Leasehold Valuers will also be there to explain all about calculating the cost of lease extensions; these roundtables are open to people who have questions about any aspect of leasehold valuation.

Sarah:
What else can attendees expect?

Di:
Our Valuation Station is manned by Daniel. This free service will help you find out approximate costs for extending a lease. We can also help you to understand how to form a group with your neighbours to buy your freehold – and how this can lead to significant cost savings.

Sarah:
What was the feeling at the end of the presentations and roundtables at the last roadshow?

Di:
It was an emotional rollercoaster – to be honest, they always are.

Attendees told us that the talks were enlightening, not only about the leasehold system, but also about their legal rights. Everyone felt relieved to have things explained in simple terms – it is a very complex process after all. I really noticed that when they went on to speak to the experts at the roundtables, it really made them feel like someone was listening and wanted to help. Everyone was very happy at the end of the sessions. The feedback was incredible, the atmosphere was electric as people left, they felt empowered and back in control.

Sarah:
What would you say to anyone thinking of attending the next roadshow in Essex?

Di:
Come along! Bring your friends, your neighbours and anyone else who might be facing the same issues as you. Come and meet friendly experts who will help you see light at the end of your leasehold tunnel. They are really informal and welcoming. The talks start at 1pm and the roundtables are from 3.30-5.30pm. It is essential to book your place!

Sarah:
Where is the venue for the next roadshow?

Di:
It’s at the De Rougemont Manor, Great Warley Street, Warley, Brentwood, Essex CM13 3JP
